This photo is from an album that belonged to James Bailey Hankins (my grandmother’s youngest brother). That’s Uncle Jimmy on the left with the two children.
Jimmy was born and raised in Hopkins County, Kentucky, but spent most of his life in southern California. He married Rachel Lesh in Los Angeles County in 1927—one day before his 26th birthday.
I’m 90% sure these folks aren’t Hankins relatives. It’s possible they were related to Rachel, or maybe they were neighbors/friends. He seems to be fond of those children. Wish I knew who they were.
