Kathleen White Neely, daughter of Virgil Slokum White and Hattie Eugenia Lanier, died on 5 June 1988 in Tylertown, Walthall, Mississippi. Kathleen was married twice—first to Robert Hoffman Hill in 1920 and last to Roy Neely about 1936.
In 1961, Kathleen appeared in an advertisement for Maytag washers, which ran in Life Magazine. She and Roy lived in Newnan, Georgia, at the time. The ad tells that she bought a Maytag washer as a bride in 1936 and the first time it needed repairs was twenty-five years later in 1961. Two pictures of Kathleen ran with the ad, one from around the time she bought the machine and one more recent to 1961.
