Feature: August Krueger
93 Years Ago: August Krueger died 16 February 1927 in Berea, Madison County, Kentucky. His death certificate lists heart failure as the cause of death, but the family story is that he hemorrhaged when eating either a cracker or cornbread after having a tonsillectomy.1
August was the son of Fritz Krueger and Henrietta Pramer and the husband of Susan Taylor.2 He was born 8 June 1879 in Lemgo, Kreis Lippe, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.3 He immigrated to the United States with his parents and two brothers in 1885.4 August and his brothers became U.S. citizens when their father was naturalized while they were still underage.5 (*Husband of Great-aunt, Taylor)
