Feature: Marie Krueger
65 Years Ago: Marie Krueger and Henry Cox were in a serious two-car accident 9 January 1954 near Calloway in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. Henry was driving north on U.S. 25 when the driver of the other car got into his lane. Henry swerved to miss the other car, but he couldn’t get completely out of the way.
Knocked unconscious, Marie was initially thought to have died. She suffered a concussion, shock, and bruises and was admitted to Berea College Hospital in Berea. Henry had some bruises and a broken finger. Both cars were a total loss.1
Marie married Henry less than two years later on 23 November 1955 in Rockcastle County.2 Marie and Henry had been married for almost 38 years when she died 10 November 1993.3 (*1st Cousin once removed, Taylor)
