William Washington Lanier was my 2nd great-grandfather and according to his headstone, he died 118 years ago this week. There is a question about the exact date because the family Bible of his grandson, William Larkin Lanier, shows he died on January 28th. He was the son of James Lanier and Polly Smith. He married Charlotte T. Jackson on 22 Oct 1835 in Meriwether County, Georgia, and they had eleven children.
