Anna Rose was the baby of John Cook Taylor and Emma Jane Owens’s family. Her closest sibling, Hartford, was 13 years old when she was born on 10 June 1918 in Mt. For several years, starting in the mid-1930s, she lived with Hartford and his family in Chicago and attended high school. During that time, she returned home to Mt. Vernon during summer breaks. Anna Rose and Holt’s son, John Hartford, was born in Detroit on 19 August 1948.8Emma Ewers Taylor Hopkins, “Our Family History” (1969-1977). p. 14. When John was very young, Anna Rose returned to Mt. Vernon to live with her parents. They lived in the other side of the duplex on West Main Street where Emma Jane and John lived, which had a connecting door in their living rooms.9Uta Faye Hopkins McCauley, daughter of Elmer D. Anna Rose suffered a heart attack while hospitalized for hiatal hernia surgery.11Emma Ewers Taylor Hopkins, “Memoir” (1977). She died on 17 July 1976 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.12Funeral Card for Anna R.
